Easy Snacks : POHA

Poha
Morning & evening snack 


Ingredients:

1 cup puffed rice
1 green chilli: chopped
2 garlic cloves: chopped
1/2 inch ginger: grated
1 large onion: chopped
1 tablespoon: chopped coriander
1 teaspoon : red chilli powder
1 teaspoon : coriander powder
1 teaspoon : turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon : chaat masala / fruit masala
2 tablespoon : oil
1 teaspoon: cumin seeds
1 teaspoon: musturd seeds
8-10 curry leaves
1 pinch : asafoetida
1 lemon
1 teaspoon : sugar
1 teaspoon salt

Method:
Take the puffed rice and wash in running water. Drain the water and set aside.

Heat oil in a pan.  Add asafoetida.   Add cumin seeds, musturd seeds, ginger, garlic green chillies,  curry leaves & onion.

Add the masalas. Turmeric, red chilli powder, coriander powder & salt,

Keep stiring for 3 minutes and then add the puffed rice which was set aside.  Add sugar.  Mix lightly. Do not break the puffed rice. Turn off the gas knob after 5 minutes of cooking.  Add lemon juice.  Sprinkle coriander & chaat masala.
Poha is ready to serve.
