Local dessert : Phirni

Phirni:  Rice and milk preparation:


Ingredients:

1/2 cup : Rice (soaked in water)
250gms: Milk
1/2 cup :Rose petals (fresh)
5 tablespoon : Sugar
2 almonds: grated
1/4th tablespoon: Chia seeds (soaked 2 hrs).
5 strands : Kesar strands
1 teaspoon : Vanilla essence

Method:

Soak the rice for 2 hours. Grind the rice in a mixture and make a thick paste.  Take a pan and add milk to it. Bring it to boil and add the rice paste. Add all of the above ingredients except vanilla essence. Let the mixture cool. Add the vanilla essence.
Let it freeze. Serve in small bowls and garnish with dryfruits and rose petals.
